Globe upgrades network infra in parts of M.Mla

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom said its network infrastructure facilities in northern and eastern Metro Manila and Rizal province have been upgraded.

In a statement, Globe said it has modernized its equipment in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) and Marikina City, as well as Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Cardona, Jala-Jala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Tanay and Teresa in Rizal.

Robert Tan, Globe Chief Technical Adviser, said once new equipment is installed in an area, Globe will progressively activate 3G, 4G HSPA+ and other advanced capabilities to deliver superior customer experience.
       
"During the course of the modernization, customers will already experience faster mobile data speed of up to 21 mbps which is comparable to the mobile internet quality of most developed countries in the world," Tan said.

"Our new state-of-the-art hardware' can support simultaneous usage of call, text and mobile internet even at peak periods, ready to bring a new level of enjoyment to our Globe subscribers."

Tan added that infrastructure change-outs are being implemented in Quezon City, Ortigas and Mandaluyong. These are expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2012.
       
Globe is currently undertaking a $700-million modernization program around the country.
