Zsa Zsa diagnosed with kidney cancer 40 days after Dolphy’s death

“When life situations get rough, I find myself taking deep breaths… And I am ready 2 take on new challenges. Living life. One day at a time.”
That was Zsa Zsa Padilla’s tweet early Sunday morning as news broke out that the already grief-stricken partner of the late, great Comedy King Dolphy had been diagnosed with stage 1 kidney cancer.
Earlier reports stated that the 48-year-old singer-actress was conspicuously absent at the Mass for the 40th day after Dolphy’s death held Saturday because she had left for Los Angeles to seek medical treatment.
She consulted doctors at Cedars Sinai Hospital after her doctors at the Makati Medical Center had detected an abnormal growth in her kidneys.
Zsa Zsa told ABS-CBN News on Sunday that a certain Dr. Folkes, her doctor at the Los Angeles-based medical facility, told her that she has a malignant growth the size of a golf ball.

In its official Twitter and Facebook accounts on Saturday, Bench said it is proud to welcome Sanchez as part of the family.
"Let's all welcome the fashionable @JSanchezAI11 to the ever-growing @benchtm family! #JessicaSanchez4Bench," said Bench.
“We are thrilled to welcome the voice that has won the hearts of many. Truly proud to have @JSanchezAI11 part of the #Benchsetter family,” Bench added.

Archuleta's Bench billboards and posters can now be seen in different Bench stores nationwide.
Filipino-American "Idol" Season 3 contestant Jasmine Trias also did commercials for Bench after she placed third in the popular reality talent search.

KC Concepcion on the cover of Cosmopolitan Mexico

MANILA, Philippines – It seems that the charm and popularity of actress-host KC Concepcion has reached as far as Mexico.
Concepcion showed viewers of “Kris TV” a copy of her first and only cover on the Mexican edition of women’s magazine Cosmopolitan which, she said, was released two or three years ago.
The cover showed KC shot against a blue background, wearing a revealing low-cut white dress.
“Hindi ko nga alam na may ganito ako eh,” she said of her Cosmo Mexico cover, laughing. “This was two or three years ago.”
Concepcion showed off her spacious condominium in Taguig City during the Kris TV episode.
The show’s host, Kris Aquino, was surprised to see the actress-host’s cover with Cosmopolitan Mexico, and suggested that she store it in a safe place.
International appeal
Early this month, Concepcion was included in a list of sexiest international actresses compiled by a New York-based lifestyle website.
The actress-host ranked 23rd in a list titled “25 Sexiest International Actress You Haven’t Heard Of” by fashion and lifestyle website Complex, the only Filipina who made the cut.
Those who made it to the list were seen to be “the next beautiful foreign woman who can sideline the exhausted A-list actresses fronting every contemporary US film.”
Sharon Cuneta’s eldest daughter, who is not new to being named “sexiest” (she has been consistently included in men’s magazine FHM’s “World’s Sexiest” list), was recognized not only for her achievement in showbiz, but also for her being the United Nation’s National Ambassador Against Hunger.

Andi-Iza Slap Scene Not Scripted

MANILA, Philippines – Young actress Andi Eigenmann believes that though her "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" co-star Iza Calzado was taken aback with the former's "improvised" slap in one their scenes, the latter did not take it personally.
“Kasi siyempre sometimes ‘yung result much better kapag spontaneous, kapag mukhang natural siya,” Andi noted in her interview with ABS-CBN News.
She also pointed out that Iza is a “professional” and a “good” actress who “knows what’s she’s doing.”
“So I know naman that she would not take that against me,” she added.
Iza, meanwhile, is obviously thrilled with the outcome of the scene, as seen in this tweet on Thursday:
“Thank you soooo much for all your tweets about our much awaited 'slap' scene haha!!! More exciting scenes to come so please watch KPM.”
The fire in Andi’s belly to offer more as an actress can perhaps be attributed to her showbiz hiatus, which lasted for almost a year due to her pregnancy. She admitted feeling “rusty” when she resumed work.
“Pero I missed it so much so parang gutom na gutom akong umarte," she said.
The daughter of industry veterans Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil admitted "fearing" that her career was over due to the sabbatical.
“I expected maybe I just have to find another job, go back to school or something… I was so afraid, people judging me negatively. Baka siyempre hindi na ako kailangan kasi po may anak na ako eh,” she related.
Nevertheless, Andi’s celebrated comeback was not only marked by her apparent determination to stay in showbiz but also by her effort to lose weight. The actress happily related having shed 50 pounds in less than six months thanks to swimming, dieting, and undergoing non-surgical enhancement.
“It’s amazing. I’m really happy and talagang naka-focus ako ngayon sa trabaho and really working hard now, because this time it’s not only for me but also for Ellie (her daughter),” she enthused.

Scandalous star banned from family parties and other celebrity news

Perhaps it’s true that the marriage of Controversial Celebrity and Long-Suffering Partner is in trouble.
Denials had come swiftly from both CC’s and LP’s camps, but a seemingly innocent photo posted on Facebook seems to confirm the idle talk.
The photo shows LP partying with his family on an important occasion; conspicuously missing is CC. Of course there can be a perfectly logical explanation for that.
But could it be true that LP’s entire clan hates CC? And that CC has been barred from all family gatherings? Uh-oh.
Maybe CC’s just busy? Not!
Uninvited
The animosity between Feisty Celeb and Scandalous Personality goes a long way back.
During a party years ago, SP arrived later than the other guests. As luck would’ve it, FC had cornered a prime table, with other high-profile friends, including Respected Colleague. Naturally, SP wanted to be seated there.
RC had to lead SP to another table. SP never forgave FC for that transgression, it seems.

Waiting for Marion
NEW YORK—French actress Marion Cotillard could have been replaced as a love interest for Christian Bale’s Batman in the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.”
That’s because she was due with her first child, a son she named Marcel, around the beginning of filming for the third installment in the franchise.
Director Christopher Nolan tells the August issue of Vogue magazine (hitting stores July 24) he wanted to “figure it out.” Most of her scenes were pushed back a month and Nolan made room on set for Cotillard’s family.
Still, he marveled at the Academy Award winner’s ability to do her job so soon after giving birth, calling it “amazing to see” and describing her as “Superwoman.”
Nolan and Cotillard worked together on the 2010 film “Inception.” AP
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests  (And why we are moved, if we are moved):
Dolphy, asked in 2008 how he wanted to be remembered by people: “With a smile on their   faces.” (Done.)
Zsa Zsa Padilla, asked what she always told Dolphy in his final days: “[Go] home to Jesus. And I assured him we’d be OK, and that I knew he’d see to that once he was in heaven.” (The good die beloved.)
Zsa Zsa on her relationship with Dolphy: “I really just bargained for 10 years. I said, ‘Lord, if I could have 10 years with this man, I would be the happiest [woman].’ But we had more than that, so I’m really grateful.” (With the love of your life, 10 years is but a blink of an eye.)
Bibeth Orteza on Dolphy’s humility: “He’d be the last to say he’s the best comedian.” (So he never did.)
Vandolph, asked what he’d miss about his father Dolphy: “His ways, his scent, his jokes, his hugs … everything.” (Sigh.)
Maricel Soriano on Dolphy: “All the mistakes I made, I want to do again because I’d like him to talk to me as he always did when I had problems. I told him everything.” (Wow, a Daddy on screen and off.)
MICHAEL V
Eric Quizon on the qualities he got from his father: “He was very dedicated to and passionate about his job. I think I imbibed that. He said if I loved my work, it would love me back.” (A lesson everyone needs to learn.)
Vic Sotto on Dolphy: “He ranked higher than all other comedians but he never made us feel that. He regarded everyone as his equals.” (So now we know why Bossing was hit hard.)
Michael V on what he’ll never forget about Dolphy: “The first time I watched him on television. That was one of the reasons I ended up in this line of work. I’d like to follow in his footsteps.” (All of it?)
Janice de Belen, asked if she had been star-struck working with Vilma Santos in “The Healing”: “In one dramatic scene— normally, actors support one another when doing a scene—she said to me, ‘Pa-support.’ I thought to myself, ‘Ate Vi wants my support?” (Ate Vi needs support? Oh, you said that already.)
Lara Quigaman on being married to Marco Alcaraz: “I’m so happy, so overwhelmed … it’s all so like a dream!” (We so got that.)
Toni Gonzaga on Lara Quigaman’s figure (she’s five months pregnant):  “Parang nag-extra rice lang!” (That’s so unfair.)
Show biz columnist Chito Alcid on being confronted by Annabelle Rama in Dolphy’s wake: “This is the ultimate kabastusan!” (Agree! Spin a win!)
Jackie Rice on taking part in the FHM 100 Sexiest Woman party: “Before ako umakyat ng stage, sumigaw muna ako nang napakalakas para ilabas ’yung kaba. Feeling ko magko-collapse ako sa sobrang kaba.” (Whew!!!)
