MANILA, Philippines – Young actress Andi Eigenmann believes that though her "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" co-star Iza Calzado was taken aback with the former's "improvised" slap in one their scenes, the latter did not take it personally.
“Kasi siyempre sometimes ‘yung result much better kapag spontaneous, kapag mukhang natural siya,” Andi noted in her interview with ABS-CBN News.
She also pointed out that Iza is a “professional” and a “good” actress who “knows what’s she’s doing.”
“So I know naman that she would not take that against me,” she added.
Iza, meanwhile, is obviously thrilled with the outcome of the scene, as seen in this tweet on Thursday:
“Thank you soooo much for all your tweets about our much awaited 'slap' scene haha!!! More exciting scenes to come so please watch KPM.”
The fire in Andi’s belly to offer more as an actress can perhaps be attributed to her showbiz hiatus, which lasted for almost a year due to her pregnancy. She admitted feeling “rusty” when she resumed work.
“Pero I missed it so much so parang gutom na gutom akong umarte," she said.
The daughter of industry veterans Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil admitted "fearing" that her career was over due to the sabbatical.
“I expected maybe I just have to find another job, go back to school or something… I was so afraid, people judging me negatively. Baka siyempre hindi na ako kailangan kasi po may anak na ako eh,” she related.
Nevertheless, Andi’s celebrated comeback was not only marked by her apparent determination to stay in showbiz but also by her effort to lose weight. The actress happily related having shed 50 pounds in less than six months thanks to swimming, dieting, and undergoing non-surgical enhancement.
“It’s amazing. I’m really happy and talagang naka-focus ako ngayon sa trabaho and really working hard now, because this time it’s not only for me but also for Ellie (her daughter),” she enthused.
