MANILA, Philippines – A woman committed suicide by jumping in front of an approaching Light Rail Transit (LRT) train in Pasay City on Thursday morning, an official said.
Light Rail Transit Autrhority (LRTA) Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the woman jumped on the tracks of the LRT-1 in EDSA-Taft station at around 5:50 a.m.

"CCTV shows the woman jumped into the tracks right after the platform guard walked by her,"Cabrera said.
The unidentified woman, who appeared to be between ages 50 and 60, died on the spot after suffering severe head injury.
The woman was wearing jogging pants and what seemed to be a hospital gown.
Her body was removed from the tracks shortly before 9 a.m. following an investigation by Scene of the Crime Operatives.
The train, which came from its station in Baclaran, also suffered from a technical glitch after its operator stopped it upon seeing the woman jumped off the platform.
The accident also caused some delays in the train operation, forcing many rush hour passengers to take other means of transportation.
Full operations resumed around 9:40 a.m., according to Cabrera.
The EDSA-Taft station is also connected with the other end of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3).
