Manila, Philippines - Smart Communications Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of dominant carrier Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), is offering smartphones including Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S3, and HTC One X for free with every subscription to a Smart Unlimited Data Plan 2000.
Kathy Carag, head of Smart’s postpaid business, said the three phones are recognized around the world as the best in their respective classes given their top tier features and high-end specifications.
“These are the best device bundles we have ever put together. What’s more, we are offering them at a price that fits your budget,” Carag stressed.
The Samsung Galaxy S3, in particular, has been crowned by technology critics worldwide as the “best Android phone ever made” given its beefy quad-core processor and stunning AMOLED screen.
The equally impressive HTC One X, meanwhile, draws attention to its tough polycarbonate shell and high resolution camera which, easily rivals the speed and picture quality of larger, more advanced digital SLRs.
Lastly, the Apple iPhone 4S, which was previously free on a Smart iPhone Plan 2500, boasts of SIRI, a voice-powered assistant which enables its users to set appointments, search the web, make calls, and send text messages and the easy-to-use Apple iOS mobile operating system.
“With such an impressive selection, there has never been a better time to switch to Smart. After all, what good is a great phone if it’s not on the best network,” she added.
Also available for free with a Smart Unli Data Plan 2000 are the Samsung Galaxy Note, a “phablet” that features a gargantuan 5.3-inch screen and a handy smart stylus and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone that could be upgraded to the latest version of Android, version 4.1 “Jellybean.”
Along with unlimited data connectivity, Smart Unli Data Plan 200 comes with 200 free SMS and 150 free voice minutes to all networks.
Earlier, Smart launched “Postpaid Freedom Plan” wherein postpaid subscribers plans should not fear overspending or long lock-in periods.
The plan enables users to purchase service “buckets” such as Trio Talk 150 which offers 150 minutes of calls to Smart, Sun, and Talk ‘N Text subscribers good for 15 days for only P150, and All Text 200 which includes 2000 texts to all networks and 150MB of mobile surfing good for 30 days for only P200.
These buckets allow for a fully-customizable postpaid experience which gives subscribers more value for their money. And with no monthly service fee, Freedom subscribers may also use their plans on a per minute or a per text basis.
Smart is the Philippines’ leading wireless services provider with 50.9 million subscribers on its GSM network as of end-June 2012.
